A golfer's reproduction hickory shafted Sunday Stick, by Heritage Golf of St. Andrews

 

During golf's early years the game was frowned upon on a Sunday, the Sabbeth, many courses being closed on that day (as is St. Andrews even now).  A small item which appealled to the ever defiant golf addict - a walking aid formed as a small golf club - was the Sunday or Sabbeth stick which gave going for a brisk Sunday walk a whole new meaning.  Sunday sticks are now keenly collected and are useful conversation pieces for the avid golf collector
